With New Name and Focus, Dronedek Looks to Finally Arrive
While there are a number of firms working on drone delivery, far fewer are thinking about exactly where those drones will land, and what happens to the food or package it’s carrying after touchdown. That’s where Arrive fits in. It’s putting that capital to work to build out “mailboxes as a service” - allowing the seamless movement of goods and supplies between people, robots, and drones.
Arrive Names Oracle its “Supplier of the Year”
INDIANAPOLIS – May 22, 2023 – Arrive Names Oracle its “Supplier of the Year”
Financing is generally thought to be the biggest challenge because it takes a lot of money to convert an idea into a viable product or service. But proper staffing and vendor partners are just as critical because no one can do it all. And if you don’t have the right people and support in place, you’re just a guy with an idea talking to the wind.
Arrive doesn’t have that issue, in part because of its core team, but also because it relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Dronedek: Deploy a smart mailbox and package delivery logistics platform on Oracle Cloud
Package theft is a worldwide issue. It is estimated that more than 210 million packages were stolen from porches in the United States alone. Package losses totaled more than $2.4 billion USD.
Dronedek has created a platform to solve this problem. The platform consists of smart enclosures, drones, integration-to-delivery services, and a lightweight messaging protocol for remote devices with MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT) hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Today, packages are dropped onto doorsteps, into mailboxes with no security, or left with an authorized person aged 18 or older. There is no verification that a package actually reaches the person for whom it is intended, which leads to package theft and mishandled packages, all at the expense of the package originator. The Dronedek platform ensures that packages arrive safe in the last mile.

Drone delivery boxes could help save lives
KINGSTON, Tenn. (WVLT) - Seconds count in an emergency, and in some cases, GPS isn’t the best way to help first responders find a victim.
Now, a new company is testing a product used for drone package deliveries to help emergency responders.
Emergency Services worker David Schroder said he encounters mailboxes without clear numbers daily. He said that makes it difficult for first responders to know where the emergency is.
